How to Create a Beautiful Winter Barn Wedding on The Farm

As most any bride looking to book a wedding venue knows, fall (particularly October, followed by November and September) and Spring (May, followed by April and March) are the most popular months to have a wedding. Couples are drawn to springtime when the surrounding property is coming to life and love the color and texture the leaves and cotton fields bring in the fall. We love those times on The Farm as well, but one of our favorite times of the year to host weddings is in the winter. And as you can see from the photos of this winter barn wedding on The Farm, it turned out to be absolutely breathtaking! So how did they do it? Well, let’s take a look…

Go Bold With a Color Palette That Fits With the Season

Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years each have their own distinct set of natural color combinations that are great for designing a beautiful palette for your wedding. Instead of wasting time worrying if you’re going to be “too themey” with the time of year, embrace the colors that fit with the season and timing of your wedding. As you can see, this couple chose to lean into the beautiful and rich reds and greens of Christmas. And yes, there are plenty of other color combinations that are beautiful for winter weddings…we’re just saying it’s okay to take inspiration from the season and landscape around you in order to create a beautiful design for your wedding.

Wedding Reception Place Settings Can Make a Big Impact

We can’t get over how beautiful the place settings were at this winter wedding on The Farm. They nailed it…using a perfect blend of textures, colors (reds, greens and golds) and kept with the overall design aesthetic. The design also fits perfectly with the rustic-yet-elegant reception hall. Notice how the place settings work so well at integrating with the overall environment. The result is a gorgeous space that is setup and ready for a great night with family and friends.

Integrate Small Touches Throughout to Make a Cohesive & Captivating Statement

This lovely couple chose to add design touches not just for the bridal party and reception, but also at the ceremony site. Integrating small touches throughout the entirety of the event will make for a cohesive and captivating design statement at your wedding.

We may be biased, but we think The Farm is the perfect place to have a beautiful winter barn wedding. The mixture of beautiful landscape, indoor/outdoor ceremony site options and a rustic-yet-elegant barn reception hall are the perfect backdrop for a winter wedding. And don’t worry folks, all of our buildings are temperature controlled!
